We’re in the process of adopting. Sunday evening, we welcomed our new “daughter” into our bright little downtown apartment for the night. We won’t be officially getting her for a few weeks, but we thought that we’d introduce her to her new space and get more acquainted with us.
Introducing Lily! You can’t really tell from the photo, but she is a biiig 87lb girl (Bernese Mountain dog and German Shephard mix). How can you resist those dreamy eyes? She’s got the most expressive eyebrows. She’s a champion car passenger. She sleeps all night without moving. She’ll love you forever if she gets a rigorous belly rub. She loves to cuddle with her toys and pillows. She puts them in between her paws and gently nuzzles and licks them. It always looks like she’s ‘smiling’.
All she needs is some walking buddies and some definite walking training (says my poor tiny, sore shoulders)
This is our first dog. I am simultaneously elated and nervous. Any advice/tips/amusing anecdotes?
xo.
Oh my goodness – what a cutie! 🙂 The most important thing I’ve learned about bringing a new pet into the home is to go about your business as usual. Dogs are very sensitive to emotion and atmosphere. If you’re relaxed, so are they. 🙂
What a cutie as well as a sweetie pie:)
aw, why thank you! she sure is! She’s got quite a few quirks and odd behaviours we’ve discovered, which makes me even more lovable! haha 🙂
